Climb up the Grouse Grind, Vancouver

Yesterday, Steve and I decided to challenge ourselves to the Grouse Grind climb in North Vancouver. Having never done this climb, we were well aware of what we were getting ourselves into. The 2800 foot vertical climb was more challenging than we had anticipated, especially since we decided to both carry heavy backpacks up the trail full of camera gear!

Once at the top, the struggles were well worth the effort as the views were breath-taking and the sense of accomplishment was high. Tired and sweaty, we vowed to replace every calorie that we just burnt with an amazing plate of nachos and beer!

Surfing in Lahinch, Ireland in Paint

Lahinch is a village on Liscannor Bay, on the northwest coast of County Clare, in northern Munster, Ireland. Lahinch has become renowned as one of the foremost surfing locations in Ireland, as well as other water-sports including kitesurfing and windsurfing. While visiting the area, I managed to get down there and witness a surfing lesson taking place.

I did a painting of the original photograph you can find here.

The Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s top Visitor attractions. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 kilometres over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare. You can see the O’Brien’s Tower standing proudly on the headland of the majestic Cliffs.
