Parking Garage

Steve and I went on an evening walk into downtown Waterloo, Ontario back in 2006. We often organize mini competitions so that we have a goal in mind during the walk. We gave ourselves the challenge of trying to photograph a parking garage in an interesting way as the main subject matter. The following shots were part of the series I selected.

Finger Painting Faces

I have always had a passion for painting with my fingers. As a child, there was something about finger-painting that I really loved. The texture of the paint sliding along my hands and the ability to be quite precise in where I wanted to place colour. This painting was completed using about 95% finger only, with a few small details added in the end with a paint brush.

Sunset Series, St. Jacobs, Ontario

These images were shot in St. Jacobs Country, Ontario. My goal here focused on playing with a pre-determined colour scheme. I selected orange and purple in combination with black for each of the following three compositions. The sun was setting and I had to work fast to capture each of the unique perspectives while also finding appropriate subject matter to present my message.

Rocker Chick Portrait Shoot

Anna always had a funky look to her! I asked her if she’d help me out with a rocker-style photoshoot using some instruments and red polka dots! She was happy to jump into the studio and was pleased with the results! Anna says “Sandra is a professional and a true delight to work with! From the moment I arrived on the rocker chick shoot, I was welcomed and made feel comfortable. I can’t thank her enough for capturing the part of me that feels sexy and cutting-edge. She is so encouraging and her creative ideas about costumes and props for the shoot made the whole experience a total blast! I’d definitely work with her again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others.”

Fun with Sydney

Sydney and I had a fun time practising with some lighting equipment and prop setups on this series. I was doing some stock photography and we seemingly got a bit carried away when the corn came out of the fridge! Afterward we went out for drinks in downtown Waterloo, Ontario. Sydney, a fellow photographer, was a great model for this shoot! Thanks again for your time and great energy on this day back in 2006!
