Lana

During 2006, we spent time shooting everyone we knew for additional practice using our lighting equipment and gear. I shot this woman in using some black and white process styling techniques to give the images a pop, funky style. I was overall pleased with the set, especially the optical illusion of working with a model in a staircase. I had the images originally in colour, but the processing style of using high contrast with black and white effectively gave off the message I was going for.

Willow’s Cat Box

Since Steve purchased a set up boots back in 2006, our cat Willow took over this particular box as her own. Still loves and sleeps in it every day over three years later.

Frost Morning

Waking up early one November morning back in 2006, I noticed some beautiful patterns forming when the frost built up on the grass and leaves. I attempted to create a series of natural elements with simple shape.

Candice Head Shots

Photographed back in 2006, Candice had never had professional style photographs before. She was a bit shy to have cameras in her face, but once we got into shooting a bit, she opened up and giggled lots! I was quite pleased with some of the head shots that we did back then, as I was just learning how to use the lighting equipment. Candice was a great little model and I’d surely work with her again in the future!

“I suck in life” – Health Canada Campaign

While attending Wilfrid Laurier University, I took a advertising class in which we had to some up with a campaign designed around a re-style of an existing campaign. I decided that the Health Canada campaign could a kick so that it would appeal to a younger generation of youth, promoting healthy eating. I came up with these images after model Vanessa agreed to act serious while “sucking in life”. I am not a designer so putting together the advertisement layout was a challenge. The campaign concept was a success and I got a perfect mark back from the professor! (Post has no direct association with Heath Canada)
